Handyman in North River Shores, FL

North River Shores is not part of Port St. Lucie. It is unincorporated Martin County, between Stuart and the tidal North Fork of the St. Lucie River, with US-1 on the east — about two miles from downtown Stuart and four from east Port St. Lucie.

North River Shores

Tidal water on one side, and low ground

A good part of North River Shores is water, and the land sits low. Between them, those two facts explain most of what is different about keeping a yard here. The river frontage is tidal and brackish, so planting that thrives on a dry lot in the middle of town will not necessarily last twenty feet from the water. Bank edges, docks and seawalls want an edge built to hold rather than one cut in and hoped for. And how a yard drains after a wet week counts for a lot more than it does inland.

Worth knowing before you plan anything structural: this is Martin County, not the City of Port St. Lucie. Different office, different rules, different permit. People get tripped up by that all the time.

A lot of our work along here is for people who have decided they are done going up ladders, or who spend half the year somewhere north of here. That is why we do home watch and check-ins alongside the yard work.
