Yards that got ahead of the house

The planting along this side of town has had decades to do what it likes, and a lot of it has. Shrubs that were a border are now a wall. Beds that had a shape have quietly migrated into the grass. Something self-seeded behind the downspout years ago and is now the biggest thing in the yard. Putting that right is a day of cutting and a day of deciding what stays, and it changes the front of a house more than paint does.
